GH Electrothermia buys majority stake in Induction Atmospheres
Spanish induction-heating equipment supplier GH Electrothermia S. A. has purchased a majority stake in Induction Atmospheres. The value of the investment is not known. The purchase was completed in mid February. The companies say that consolidating resources, technology and engineering expertise will increase sales and open new markets for them. GH Group president Jos Vicente Gonzlez said Induction Atmospheres provides his organization with a way to deliver its induction heating systems to the U.S. market. “This is exactly the type of synergistic relationship we were looking for in a U.S.-based company,” according to Gonzlez. “We are very excited about the future of our companies.” The latter company — a Rochester, NY, turnkey manufacturer and system integrator of induction-heating systems for aerospace, medical and energy production applications — is known now as GH Induction Atmospheres. GH Induction Atmospheres general manager Steve Skewes said the investment will help his organization to provide sales and service for its own turnkey systems in countries like India, China, and Brazil. "We'll be hiring immediately in sales, and by the end of the year, we will be manufacturing GH power supplies and smaller systems here in Rochester,” Skewes said. “Both companies use the same product development design systems, which will simplify the design transfer. This really is one of those rare, win-win business scenarios, and we look forward to a long and profitable relationship.”
