ZOLLER will introduce two new automation and inspection systems at IMTS 2026 in Chicago, alongside its full lineup of tool presetting, measuring, heat-shrinking, balancing, and data-transfer technology.

ZOLLER »micBox«

The »micBox« automates indexable insert handling on milling tools, covering tool identification, insert indexing, rotating, flipping, replacement, and fastening-screw changes in a single system. An optional AI-supported »wearCheck« feature evaluates each cutting edge and determines whether an insert should stay in use, be indexed, or be replaced. For shops running high insert volumes, that means less manual sorting and more consistent tool life decisions. Making its world premiere at the show.

ZOLLER »pomBasic MTI«

The »pomBasic MTI« (Micro Tool Inspection) is a compact, production-integrated system for inspecting and measuring micro-tools. A high-resolution micro-camera with coaxial lighting and a zoom lens captures tools at 125x to 1250x magnification, giving manufacturers working with small-diameter or precision tooling a way to catch wear and defects that standard inspection setups miss.

• »toolBalancer« — Balances toolholders, tool assemblies, and grinding wheels to within 0.4 gram millimeters (0.0006 oz-in), supporting smoother machining, longer tool life, and better surface finish.
• ZOLLER TMS Tool Management Solutions — Software and storage for toolroom tracking; ZOLLER staff will walk attendees through deployment roadmaps at the booth.
• ZOLLER toolholders — CAT, CATD, BT, BTD, HSK, PSC, and high-performance lines, balanced above DIN requirements to G2.5 at 25,000 rpm or under 1 g·mm unbalance; include a chip pocket for RFID or the ZOLLER »zidChip« for connected tool tracking.
• »z.DMI« and »zidCode 4.0« — Direct, two-way data transfer between ZOLLER presetting/measuring machines and CNC controls (Heidenhain, Siemens, FANUC, Matsuura, Makino), enabling real-time tool-life monitoring and traceability without stopping the machine.
• »smile«, »venturion«, »redomatic« — Established tool presetting, inspection, and measuring machines for reducing setup time and eliminating manual data-entry errors.

ZOLLER will announce the winners of its North American Toolroom of the Year competition on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 3:30 p.m. at the booth. The award recognizes ZOLLER customers for toolroom organization, connectivity, and use of integrated systems to improve efficiency and productivity across the tool lifecycle.
