Digital Readout Systems for Optical Comparators

April 22, 2020
Digital readouts combine an intuitive user experience with touchscreen conventions and a wide range of functionality.

L.S. STARRETT CO., manufacturers of precision hand tools and gages, and metrology systems, is offering new MetLogix Mx200 Digital Readouts (DRO) for its line of optical comparators. Fully featured and simple to use, the DROs combine an intuitive user experience with current touchscreen conventions and a wide range of functionality.

The Mx200 is a shop-hardened DRO. A sealed rubber keypad and durable powder-coated enclosure ensure lasting performance in any environment, from the shop floor to the Quality Control lab. Capable of optical edge detection and crosshair measurement, Mx200 probing options are spontaneous. The exclusive EdgeLogic™ feature allows gesture-driven control of start and end measurement commands, minimizing the need to interact with the DRO directly. Users simply cross the same edge twice to start and end measurements.

Supporting industry standard feature measurement and popular graphic-based construction types, the Mx200 toggle feature construction sub-types quickly with the "Change Feature Type" button.

Popular geometric tolerancing and part programming can be applied to measured and constructed features using the Metlogix tolerance system. Nominal and tolerance limits are quickly applied and viewed accurately in a large, easy-to-read LCD display with LED capacitive touchscreen.

Metlogix axis support includes XY, XYZ, or XYQ, and DROs also feature multiple language support.

Users may choose from one of three report formats with the Mx200 DRO: CSV, Standard, or Tolerance. Report contents may include a report title, time and date stamps, and all feature measurement results data. Reports can be printed as hard copies to a wireless Windows compatible printer, or exported as CSV or TSV data files to a USB flash storage device. Measurement results can also be exported via RS232(serial) output to an external PC application.

Starrett also offers the new MetLogix Mx100, which is a more simplified, "basic features" version of the Mx200 DRO.
