Manually dumping bulk material from hand-held sacks into process equipment or storage vessels exposes operators and the plant environment to dust—a persistent challenge when handling powders, granules, or other materials prone to airborne contamination.

The Flexicon Mobile Bag Dumping Station is a self-contained, mobile system that isolates bulk material from the operator and plant environment throughout bag opening, dumping, compaction, and downstream conveying. Mounted on locking wheel casters, the unit can be rolled between plant locations, positioned for use, and locked stable during transfers, then moved to storage or cleaned when not in use.

Operators use built-in rubber gloves to retrieve bags through a hinged door on the hood's sidewall, placing them onto a grate for opening and emptying without direct skin contact. Emptied bags pass through a second hinged door on the opposite sidewall into an integrated bag compactor. A dust collector maintains negative pressure within the enclosure, and a dual-cartridge filtration system captures dust generated during dumping, disposal, and compaction. Filters are accessible via a removable interior baffle with quick-disconnect fittings for replacement.

The bag compactor's high-capacity cylinder compresses up to 80 bags into a removable bin. Safety interlocks on the compactor's main door and the flapper door connecting it to the dust hood prevent operation unless both doors are securely closed.

Material flows from the hopper into the charging adapter of a flexible screw conveyor. The stainless-steel screw's specialized geometry handles both free and non-free-flowing bulk materials, including those prone to packing, caking, smearing, seizing, or fluidizing, without causing blend separation.
