The Forging Industry Association has appointed an executive search committee to select a new president for the trade group, following the resignation of Roy Hardy in mid-May. Hardy accepted a position as president of the Precision Metalforming Assn.
No schedule for naming a new FIA president was announced. The committee will retain the services of a professional placement firm to conduct a national search to find the next President.
Until a new FIA president is named, the daily functions of the Association will be overseen by Joe Boni, FIA’s CFO, treasurer, and corporate secretary.
Before joining FIA as its president and 2009, Roy Hardy had been an owner and vice president of sales for Spin-Works LLC, a manufacturer of thermal ceramic products. He is a metallurgist, with a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati and an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University.
PMA represents manufacturers of precision metal products, including stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming, and roll forming operations. Hardy replaced Bill Gaskin, who retired after 40 years with the PMA, including the past 17 years as its president.
“We are thrilled to welcome Roy to PMA,” according to PMA 2017 chairman Dave Arndt. “He has a proven track record of leadership and a wealth of industry knowledge that will be a tremendous asset to PMA members, our staff and our board. Roy will build on recent years of solid growth and will lead PMA’s continued growth at this critical time for U.S. manufacturing.”
The FIA executive search committee includes William M. Hoban (search committee chairman and former FIA chairman); Jeffrey T. Jones (FIA chairman); Ron Hahn (former FIA executive committee member); Kenneth Mathas (former FIA chairman); and Michael Wozniak (FIA executive committee member.)
