BCU Series Flow Meter Measures Liquid Flow Without Line Penetration
Brooks Instrument's BCU Series is a non-invasive clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter for upstream and downstream bioprocessing applications, including media preparation, perfusion, chromatography, and final fill. It measures liquid flow through flexible tubing without penetrating the line or contacting the process fluid, thereby preserving sterility and reducing the risk of contamination.
Compatible with common single-use flexible tubing sizes, the BCU Series is designed for single-use or hybrid bioprocessing environments. Its compact, cleanroom-ready construction makes it suitable for upstream and downstream GMP applications.
Native EtherNet/IP protocol eliminates the need for a gateway or converter, allowing direct integration into PLCs and SCADA systems. The instrument can be moved between lines and commissioned in-situ via an embedded web-based interface, which also supports alarm and diagnostics configuration and troubleshooting.
Advanced diagnostics include high/low flow and temperature warnings, bubble detection, and calibration due alerts. Flow alarms, diagnostics, and trending capabilities support predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve process yield.
