Watson-Marlow Offers KROHNE Flowmeter to Safeguard Accuracy of Fluid Flow
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) now offers the KROHNE FLEXMAG 4050 C electromagnetic flowmeter for biopharmaceutical customers. The accurate flow measuring system seamlessly integrates with other WMFTS products.
With the KROHNE FLEXMAG 4050 C electromagnetic flowmeter, WMFTS customers can verify the flow conditions of compatible Watson-Marlow pumps. Unlike other single-use flowmeters, such as ultrasonic ones, the KROHNE flowmeter provides readings independent of pressure, temperature, and viscosity of fluids.
With a simple exchange between two different flow tube sizes, the system accommodates two different flow ranges without needing to recalibrate. The transmitter and flow tube are already factory calibrated.
Creating a sterile fluid path is crucial in the biopharmaceutical industry. The flowmeter features a disposable, biocompatible, and gamma-stable flow tube that integrates into customized single-use assemblies. The FLEXMAG 4050 C flow tubes are manufactured at an ISO 13485-certified site, and production takes place in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. The flow tube is gamma stable up to 50 kGy with fluid contact materials made from biocompatible material.
Part of the Watson-Marlow compatible accessory range, the KROHNE flowmeter is exclusively available as a package with the following Watson-Marlow pumps and/or puresu assemblies:
- PROFINET and EtherNet/IP 500, 600, and 700 series Watson-Marlow process pumps
- puresu assemblies
This offering is ideal for customers in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry involved in a range of bioprocessing applications, including filtration processes, chromatography, and buffer or media preparation.

RS Partners With Hammond Manufacturing to Provide Custom EnclosuresRS (formerly Allied Electronics & Automation) now offers more than 4,900 fully customizable electrical and electronic enclosures from Hammond Manufacturing.
Hammond Manufacturing can factory modify every one of the more than 2,100 electrical enclosures and more than 2,700 electronic enclosures that RS has in stock or available for drop-shipping during the order fulfillment process and is committed to delivering a perfect product. Most modifications can be completed in just a few weeks.
During that time, Hammond will submit a custom drawing for approval, machine the approved design, and overnight ship a sample enclosure so customers can test it with their components and devices. Then, it will make any additional modifications necessary to ensure that it’s perfect before shipping the final product to customers with a custom part number that they can use if they ever want to order that same enclosure through RS again.
“More than half the time, after a customer receives a sample of the custom design they’ve already signed off on, they come back and ask for a small change. It’s almost never a mistake; it’s usually just something they noticed would be perfect if it were just a little bit different, like moving a hole five-thousandths of an inch, and our process allows us to make it perfect for them.” — Tom Ballou, Sales and Marketing Manager – Hammond Manufacturing.
Hammond Manufacturing designs, manufactures, and modifies a variety of electrical and electronic enclosures and related products including power distribution equipment, thermal management solutions, transformers, tools & hardware, wire & cable products, and rack mounting solutions—now available through RS.
Its electrical enclosure line includes mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, non-metallic, disconnect, modular freestanding, operator interface, and commercial enclosures, as well as wireway and trough, climate control solutions, rack mounting solutions, and accessories extending from hardware, panels, and panel accessories to outlet strips, window kits, and lighting.
Its electronic enclosure line includes diecast, plastic, extruded, general-purpose metal, chassis, rack-mounted, and industrial enclosures, as well as development board products, handles, and accessories extending from feet, hole plugs, and cord grips to tilt bails and pole mounting kits.
RS Adds 3 New Suppliers
RS has also added three new suppliers to its selection of industrial automation solutions: ILME, ABB Robotics, and Madison Company. These latest additions extend its portfolio of Industry 4.0 technologies including industrial connectors, robotics, switches, and sensor products.
ILME designs and manufactures a fully integrated range of industrial connectivity products engineered for heavy-duty applications in the global industrial automation, railway, marine equipment, robotics, and traditional and sustainable energy industries.
