    PENN System 550 C550A Control Modules Replace Legacy System 350

    The PENN System 550 C550A control modules are web-enabled temperature, humidity, and pressure controls designed as functional replacements for discontinued System 350 models, including the A350, P352, and W351 series. They support one sensor input and feature a guided setup that allows users to configure the module to match the System 350 unit being replaced.

    C550A modules connect to the System Cloud platform, enabling two-way remote communication for system health monitoring, alerts, and troubleshooting. On-board Wi-Fi allows authorized users to access HVAC-R system data and receive notifications when issues are detected.

    Two output types are available:

    • C550ACN: Two relay outputs, replacing System 350 modules with relay outputs such as A350A, A350B, A350E, P352A, and W351A series; compatible with C550SCN relay expansion and C550SQN analog expansion modules for up to 10 outputs.
    • C550AQN: Two analog outputs, replacing System 350 modules with analog outputs such as A350P, P352P, and W351P; for more than two analog outputs, the C550CQN series is required.

    The modules are not backward compatible with System 350 devices, meaning all legacy modules must be replaced with the appropriate System 550 model. The C550A series supports hundreds of HVAC-R applications, including heating & cooling control, staged boiler or chiller control, boiler & chiller loop water temperature rest control, humidification & dehumidification control, and combination temperature & humidity control. The design also allows for increased sensing outputs, including A2L refrigerant leak detection, with fewer modules, potentially reducing cost and saving space in equipment designs.
