Custom engineered platinum and platinum-alloy clad wire, rod and ribbon which are functionally equivalent to solid wire at about one-tenth the cost are available from Anomet Products, Inc. of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Anomet Platinum Clad Wire is functionally equivalent to solid platinum with respect to providing high corrosion resistance and electrochemical and thermal stability, but is typically one-tenth the cost. Featuring 2% or more cladding thickness, this clad wire has a smooth, consistent surface finish and can be custom engineered to match application requirements. Metallurgically bonded to core materials such as nickel-iron, molybdenum, tantalum, titanium, niobium, Kovar®, stainless steel and copper, Anomet Platinum Clad Wire is offered in sizes from 0.002” to 0.125” O.D. and as ribbon up to 1” wide, depending upon the desired properties. Other precious metals such as palladium, gold or silver are also available. Anomet Platinum Clad Wire is priced according to configuration and quantity; typically 10 times less expensive than solid wire. Samples, price quotations and literature are available upon request.
