Sapphire Prisms for Light Refraction Withstand Harsh Environments
Sapphire Prisms are optical components that bend, split, or reflect light for use in industrial and scientific instruments. With a Mohs 9 hardness, they provide durability and scratch resistance in harsh environments. Unlike glass or quartz, sapphire is chemically inert and transmits light across a broad spectrum, from ultraviolet to infrared.
Each prism is polished to 20-10 scratch dig or better on rectangular surfaces. Standard sizes range from 0.5 to 4 in (13 to 102 mm) on each leg of a right-angle configuration, with custom angles available and tolerances ranging from 3 to 10 min. These components can be produced in equilateral, right-angle, trapezoid, and triangle configurations.
