EFC Electronic Flow Control Redesign Adds Asynchronous Timing
In automated processes, compressed air blowoffs often run continuously, including during gaps in production when no parts are present. That wastes air and adds to operating costs. The EFC Electronic Flow Control pairs a photoelectric sensor with programmable timing control so compressed air turns on only when it's needed.
A compact photoelectric sensor detects objects up to 3 ft (0.9 m) away. When it detects a part, the unit controls the compressed air supply through a fast-acting solenoid valve. EFC models control compressed air flows up to 350 SCFM (9,911 SLPM). They are suited to blowoff, drying, cooling, conveying, and static elimination applications.
The redesigned version adds asynchronous timing, which lets users set ON and OFF intervals independently. This gives users more flexibility to match compressed air delivery to each application. Programming is now adjusted from outside the enclosure, so operators don't need to remove the enclosure cover to change the setup. The updated unit also has a revised exterior design.
