RapidStack Modular VRC Eliminates On-Site Welding
Facilities adding a second level of storage or work area at the edge of a mezzanine often face lengthy fabrication timelines, along with the added cost, permitting requirements, and safety concerns that come with on-site welding. The RapidStack is a modular vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) built from three stackable sections—pre-built top and bottom sections paired with a made-to-order middle section—designed for standard two-level, edge-of-mezzanine applications.
A bolt-together design eliminates on-site welding, allowing installation without hot work or the added permitting and labor that welding requires. Startup is simplified through quick-connect electrical components, including an integrated control panel and electrical wiring, while adjustable bracing between the VRC and mezzanine allows for field adjustment without welding. The unit can be installed in pit or surface-mounted configurations, with an optional ramp available, and its top and bottom sections rotate to accommodate different load pattern requirements.
Engineered for indoor heated environments, the system provides up to 20 ft (6 m) of vertical travel, a maximum speed of 30 ft/min (9 m/min), and a 2,500 lb (1,134 kg) capacity. Safety features include carriage-integrated 84 in (213 cm) expanded metal full enclosures, bi-swing interlocked gates at both levels, limit switches, snap chain safety features, push-button stations at both levels, and a micro PLC with a fault indicator light and direct HMI.
