TruPunch 5000 Punching Machine Adds Remote Process Monitoring
Fabricators running high-volume punching work, especially through overnight or lightly staffed shifts, lose output when they can't see a machine's condition until it stops. The latest generation of the TruPunch 5000 punching machine keeps the punching specifications of the previous model and adds a redesigned control system, remote monitoring, and setup changes to reduce downtime.
The updated control system sends process and status data to a remote dashboard, so operators can spot developing problems and correct them before the machine goes down. Up to 10 integrated cameras capture the work area, and operators can view those images from any location, including a setup station. A second monitor at the machine displays camera feeds or data from Oseon production software. Software updates can now be installed remotely, without a service technician onsite.
On the shop floor, a revised safety layout shortens operator walking distances. The ToolMaster Linear tool changer adds a display at the setup station, so operators can see all tool information where they're working and set up tools more quickly.
Punching performance is unchanged. The machine delivers 25 tons (22.7 metric tons) of punching force on sheet up to 5/16 in (8 mm) thick at up to 1,600 strokes per minute. It also performs forming operations, including embossing and drawing. An active die produces low-scratch surfaces and greater forming heights, and an open frame accommodates varied part sizes and allows access for automation.
