EMS Energy Management System Fits in 5-DIN Module

Carlo Gavazzi EMS combines energy metering, IIoT gateway, BACnet server, and data logging in a single compact DIN-rail device.

Industrial and building operations managing energy across multiple systems typically require separate devices for metering, data logging, communications, and analysis. The EMS Energy Management System combines all of those functions into a single 5-DIN module, handling measurement, data storage, and data exchange with BMS, ERP/MES platforms, and cloud-based energy services.

The EMS can operate as a standalone IIoT energy meter or as a full energy management system. Internally, it integrates a scalable 3-phase energy and power meter, an IIoT gateway, a BACnet server, a Modbus gateway, a web application for data analysis, and a Linux-based control board. A built-in webserver and Wi-Fi allow configuration in minutes from a smartphone or other device, without dedicated software. Multiple users can access dashboards, generate reports, and analyze data in real time from any device via the built-in web interface.

The platform supports BACnet, Modbus, SMTP, MQTT, and REST-API protocols for integration into IIoT environments. It is expandable via ESY plug-and-play modules or compatible meters and analyzers. MAIA Cloud integration supports centralized device and user management, secure remote access, and fleet-wide firmware updates. An optional Software Development Kit (SDK) enables future enhancements on the Linux-based platform. Security includes third-party certifications and over-the-air (OTA) firmware update capability.
