Compact Controller 100 Secure Automation Controller Is CRA Ready
Controllers in distributed energy, microgrid, and OEM equipment sit on connected networks, so they must meet cybersecurity and grid-interconnection standards while still handling field-level I/O and device communication. Wago's Compact Controller 100 Secure is a compact automation controller, built on the Compact Controller 100 family, that adds encryption, network protection, and hardware-based security functions to the platform’s control and communication capabilities.
The controller is Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) ready and carries IEC 62443-4-2 approval, plus IEEE 2030.5, IEEE 1547, and SunSpec Modbus 700 compliance. Security functions include SSH and SSL/TLS encryption, a built-in firewall and VPN, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0 support.
Dual isolated RS-485 ports connect the controller to energy meters and field devices over Modbus RTU. The unit provides eight digital inputs and eight configurable digital channels that each function as an input or output, so I/O can be allocated to match the application. Programming runs on free CODESYS 3.5 software, which supports IEC 61131-3 languages and HTML5 visualizations served from the controller’s built-in web server.
