Spike Software Adds Multichannel I/Q Analysis for RF Testing

Engineers validating phase and amplitude performance across multiple RF inputs often lack an integrated view of the complex behavior of the signals. Signal Hound's Spike (v4.0.13) is a software update that adds multichannel, phase-coherent I/Q analysis, delivering synchronized time and spectrum analysis across up to four channels with up to 40 MHz of bandwidth per unified plot.

Channels can be configured as up to four phase-locked or four fully independent inputs. The PCR4200's onboard vector signal generator (VSG) can function as a phase-coherent CW source with a customizable ±20 MHz offset to support multi-channel measurements. Amplitude, phase offset, and phase delay can be calibrated across the entire signal chain. Time-synchronized markers on each channel enable channel-to-channel phase and amplitude delta measurements. Available plot types include Time Overview, AM vs. Time, PM vs. Time, Phase Delta vs. Time, Spectrum, and Waterfall.

The update is available as a free download and is fully compatible with the PCR4200 four-channel phase-coherent receiver.
