Omax Waterjet, MultiCam CNC Routers Headline Chicago Scenic Studios Auction

On Oct. 27, Integra Asset Solutions is auctioning machining, fabrication, finishing, and material handling equipment from the 48-year-old Chicago scenic shop.

Integra Asset Solutions will hold a public online auction of equipment from Chicago Scenic Studios on Tuesday, Oct. 27, starting at 9 a.m. CT.

Featured lots include an Omax Maxiem 1530 CNC waterjet cutter, two MultiCam 5000 Series CNC routers, Bridgeport milling machines, Lincoln and Miller welders, and a Global Finishing Solutions industrial paint booth, all from the company's facility at 955 W. Cermak Rd. in Chicago.

Chicago Scenic Studios started in 1978 as a design and fabrication shop for the city's theater community. It grew into one of the Midwest's largest scenic fabricators, building for theater, TV and film, museums, corporate events, and branded environments. Clients included the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, Nike, McDonald's, and Radio City Music Hall. The company also built the staging and scenery for Barack Obama's 2008 election-night celebration in Grant Park.

You have sophisticated CNC equipment alongside forklifts, fabrication machinery, welding equipment, trucks, rigging, and hundreds of power and hand tools. Much of this type of equipment can be used not only by other scenic fabrication companies, but also all manufacturers, fabricators, machine shops, woodworking operations, contractors, construction companies, warehouses, maintenance departments, and other commercial and industrial businesses.
