Okuma IMTS 2026: New CNC Machines and Automation Systems
Okuma America Corp. used its IMTS 2026 booth in Chicago to show four CNC machines making their Americas debut, alongside a lineup built heavily around automation. Of the 11 machine tools on display, nine were paired with an automation system, giving buyers a direct look at how Okuma's machines, controls, and loading systems work together as a single-source package.

Automation Takes Center Stage
Three automation systems from the Okuma Factory Automation (OFA) Group also made their Americas debut:
- Okuma Robot Loader (ORL) series enhancements: These are next-generation robotic systems for loading and unloading workpieces. They include the ORL Drawer II (ORL-D II), the ORL for Machining Centers II (ORL-MC II) with pallet, and the ORL Plus with pallet (ORL+), which performs multiple functions.
- Okuma Tower Pallet Changer: This vertical, two-level pallet changer holds 13 pallets.
- Modular Automatic Tool Changer
Okuma also partnered with Intrinsic AI to display an AI-driven automation robot cell. It showed the OHP-C8 high-pressure coolant system as well, which it released earlier in 2026.
Control and Energy Technologies
The OSP-P500 CNC control ran on nine of the 11 machines in the booth and on free-standing interactive simulators. Okuma also displayed two parts of its Green Smart Machine technology: the ECO suite plus energy management controls and the Thermo-Friendly Concept for thermal compensation.
