Combined Tube Light Module Streamlines Vision System Integration
The Combined Tube Light is a 3-in-1 LED linescan illumination module designed to reduce complexity, cost, and footprint in machine vision systems. It integrates tube, dark field, and bright field lighting configurations into a single housing, eliminating the need for multiple lighting units and cameras, as well as separate inspection stations.
The system allows images of a single object to be captured under three different lighting conditions in one pass. Each lighting segment is tailored to detect specific types of defects, including scratches, dents, dimensional inconsistencies, and missing components.
The tube light segment delivers uniform, diffuse lighting for general imaging with a maximum brightness of 1,000,000 lx. The dark field segment illuminates at up to 800,000 lx from low angles for enhanced edge and surface defect detection. The bright field segment provides direct, high-contrast lighting at up to 12,000 cd/m² for precise feature visualization.
Each 170 mm module operates independently and can be linked with up to three others for a total length of 680 mm. Fan cooling is standard, with options for passive or water cooling.
Available LED colors include White, Red, Green, Blue, and infrared wavelengths of 850 or 940 nm.
