Mill 16 face mill is designed for handling tough cast iron applications, especially machining compacted graphite iron (CGI).

Mill 16 face mill is designed for handling tough cast iron applications, especially machining compacted graphite iron (CGI). The octagonal, double-sided insert has 16 effective cutting edges, reportedly offering the lowest tooling cost per part in the industry.

Tool life is claimed to be 20% better and metal removal 50% more than competitive mills.

Tool strengths include:

  • fine-pitch and medium-pitch cutter body equipped with innovative single-screw, wedge-style clamping system
  • octagonal, double-sided insert with 16 effective cutting edges
  • cutter diameters range from 2 to 10 in. (50 to 250 mm)
  • maximum axial depth of cut at 0.216 in. (5.5 mm); depths to 0.35 in. (9 mm) are achievable
  • wide assortment of insert edge preps, geometries, corner radii, and complementary grades
