Introduces New Line of Rupture Disks for Extrusion Applications

March 14, 2007
Dynisco has introduced a new line of rupture disks designed to provide emergency relief of excess pressure build-up in a system. Also known as “burst plugs”, these products instantaneously rupture at a specific predetermined pressure range. Designed for use in extrusion applications, these products can be used for primary relief in applications where pressure build-up can occur so rapidly that the response time of a relief valve is inadequate. “These products provide low cost insurance against the safety hazards and damage of a potentially catastrophic pressure burst,” said Matt Carrara, Dynisco Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We have seen great demand for these products, so we’ve expanded our product line to cover a wider range of pressures, and to work with a wide variety of process connections.” Key features of Dynisco rupture disks include: -available for burst pressures from 1,500 to 15,000 psi -simple, intrinsically safe design -up to 750° F melt temperatures standard -accuracy of ±5% The expanded line is now available with the following process connections: -US industry standard 1/2-20 UNF mounting thread with lengths of 1.81”, 3”, 6”, 9”, and 12” -1/2-20 UNF mounting thread with a ¼” NPT fitting for polymer discharge -European industry standard M18 x 1.5 mounting thread -5/8 – 11 NC mounting thread -3/4 – 16 UNF mounting thread
