enables control of 64 input signals to 8 outputs

Vaunix 64x8 Digital Matrix Attenuator Handover Test System, the VMA-Q64X8SE, is ideally suited for research labs conducting automated handover, MIMO performance analysis, and product verification testing.

The system offers complete 64x8 matrix attenuator functionality in a single unit eliminating the need for users to struggle with integrating multiple 8x8, 16x8 or 32x8 matrix attenuators. The compact size of this unit also saves valuable rack and bench space compared to competitive units. Now handover and MIMO testing of complex 5G, WiFi, and Satcom antenna modules is easier and quicker than ever.

With a frequency range of 500 to 6,000 MHz, the attenuator enables control of 64 input signals to 8 outputs while managing the signal power for every path. Each of the 512 connections are capable of providing up to 90 dB of attenuation with a step size of 0.1 dB. The channels can be easily programmed for fixed attenuation modes or swept attenuation ramps and fading profiles with Vaunix’s easy to use interface.

Standard SMA female or optional N-type female input and output coaxial connectors are located on the front panel of the handover test system. The rear panel also provides easy access to the 8x8 switch matrix outputs and inputs to enable maximum flexibility and utility of the unit. The VMA-Q64X8SE, Vaunix Digital Matrix Attenuator Handover Test System is also equipped with an Ethernet control port for remote programming and operation.

Each pair of 8x8 matrix attenuators features a 3-rack unit footprint. This compact construction ensures the entire 64x8 Matrix Attenuator system including PC and power supply uses only 15-rack units. This handover test system is a fraction of the size and cost of competitive rack mount matrix attenuators, enabling optimum placement in a wide range of lab environments.
