BXR-LE Brake Models Provide Precise Positioning for Assembly Robots

BXR-LE brake models provide controlled braking in confined areas using minimal power for SCARA assembly operations.

Precise positioning of semiconductor wafers during SCARA assembly operations requires instantaneous braking and holding power while minimizing heat in the system. The BXR-LE brake models provide controlled braking in a confined area using minimal power.

The braking response and holding power are ideal for high-speed applications. The brake is a power-off engaged brake that holds a semiconductor wafer in place. For subsequent operations, the brake is energized which disengages the rotor disc for the next assembly operation. It uses 24V DC for a split second to overcome compression spring inertia to open the brake, then consumes only 7V DC by using the BEM power control module.

When compared to most other electric brakes, the BXR-LE design provides just one-third of power consumption and heat generation in one-half the overall size thickness.
