Celebrating its 75th anniversary as a leading provider of innovative lifting solutions for the material handling industry, Autoquip Corporation has redefined the material handling sector with hydraulic and mechanical lifting equipment.
It specializes in high-capacity applications, precision positioning, process automation, conveyance, high vertical travel multi-level transport, complex system integration, and control technologies.
“The company has come a long way since its founding in 1947,” said Chris Kuehni, General Manager for Autoquip.
“It’s a tribute to all of our current 125 employees and those who came before them and contributed to the growth and health of our business. Their hard work and dedication have transformed us from a simple lift manufacturer to the industry leader working with some of the largest companies in the world.”
Originally founded in Chicago in 1947 manufacturing hydraulic material handling lifts, Autoquip relocated to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1974. It expanded its design and manufacturing process past standard lifts to include material positioning and handling equipment—facilitating lifting for heavy parts and materials to help companies assemble, package, and move products more safely and efficiently.
"75 years is a milestone for not only the company but for our customers, suppliers, and employees as well. They have provided the foundation that positioned us to move past the standard offerings of our traditional competitors to provide truly innovative solutions that improve productivity and efficiency.”
Today, it designs premium, custom solutions to incorporate state-of-the-art technologies to perform or combine multiple tasks of lifting, tilting, turning or transporting parts or materials—all controlled by advanced, custom, programmable control systems that are reliable, easy to use, and easy to monitor.
“We’re really proud that we still have people working for us that started when the company moved here in 1974 and are celebrating over 40 years of service. In fact, 35% of our workforce has been here for over 15 years and that’s a tribute to our community as much as the company. We’re proud to be here in Guthrie, and look forward to continuing to support the community as we grow.”
Autoquip works with some of the largest, best-known companies in the U.S., helping them design and build material handling solutions for their specific applications.
Companies Autoquip has worked with are Amazon, Boeing, Pratt Whitney, FedEx, Space X, Blue Origin, CVS, and many more.
Kuehni says Autoquip plans on celebrating this milestone anniversary all year long and with that, is planning a company event in Guthrie, Oklahoma for all of its employees, community officials, customers, suppliers, and owners.
Autoquip is the largest manufacturing employer in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and is owned by Miner Enterprises, a family company that is focused on continuing to develop Autoquip as a best-in-class company in the heartland of America.
Miner Enterprises has demonstrated its focus with its recent acquisition of OSCO Controls and its 2009 acquisition of American Lifts—blending two of the strongest brands of material handling equipment together as a beacon for “Made-in-America” innovation and quality.
Autoquip is a longtime member of both MHI and MHEDA trade groups and has provided industry stewardship to improve guidelines and best practices to continually move the material handling industry forward.
