ROBiN Speeds up Induction of Cases Into Automated Storage Systems

April 8, 2024

ROBiN, a Robotic Induction System, uses AI, machine vision, and intelligent algorithms to improve and speed up the induction of cases into automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).

The flexible material handling solution is a robotic AI-enabled system designed to improve the process of removing and organizing layers of products on pallets for integration into AS/RS. ROBiN is engineered to handle a diverse range of case sizes and shapes, without prior knowledge of the number of cases on a layer, their specific location, or orientation. This capability allows ROBiN to optimize the fill density of totes to increase efficiency in warehouses.

Features:

  • Robotic transfer of product cases into totes
  • Balances cycle time and tote fill density efficiency
  • Performs de-layering of incoming single SKU pallets to a layer table
  • Optimizes tote fill percentage, making the best use of space
  • Operates without needing cases in a prearranged stacking order
  • Compatible with a range of case sizes, gripper types, and tote dimensions
  • Simplified operation with no extensive training requirements
