VORTEC's personal air conditioners (PACs) use a compressed air supply and vortex tube technology to keep workers comfortable in extremely hot environments. With no moving parts, the vortex tube spins compressed air to force a simple heat exchange that produces cold air to 60°F below the inlet temperature. The tube is connected to the diffuse-air vest, which has a perforated lining to provide cooled air delivery over the upper body. Temperature is easily adjusted by turning a knob on the vortex tube and the vest can be worn under protective outer clothing, allowing full range of motion. www.vortec.com
