THS and THL Hydraulic Torque Wrenches Reach 52,500 ft-lb
Large flanges, pressure vessels, heavy machinery connections, and structural assemblies need consistent bolt loading, because uneven torque raises the risk of leakage, vibration, and mechanical failure. Chicago Pneumatic's THS Series square-drive and THL/TR Series low-profile hydraulic torque wrenches handle high-torque controlled bolting, with torque up to 52,500 ft-lb (71,181 N·m) and accuracy within 3%.
The THS Series handles tightening and breakout with interchangeable sockets and is suited to general maintenance work. Eight models collectively span 209 to 52,500 ft-lb (283 to 71,181 N·m), with square-drive sizes of 3/4, 1, 1-1/2, and 2-1/2 in (19, 25, 38, and 63.5 mm). The tools use aluminum unibody construction and an integrated, quick-change square-drive anvil. The reaction arm stays secured to the tool during handling and positioning, reducing the risk of dropped components when technicians work at height.
The THL/TR Series is built for fasteners with restricted clearance. Each tool pairs a THL hydraulic powerhead with an interchangeable TR ratchet link sized to fit the fastener. Five powerhead models collectively span 257 to 31,800 ft-lb (348 to 43,115 N·m), and TR links are available in metric hex sizes from 0.6 to 6 in (15 to 155 mm). The tools use aircraft-grade aluminum alloy construction, a thin nose profile for limited-clearance joints, and a retained link pin.
Both series include a 360° rotating handle with multiple attachment points and a 360° x 180° twin-swivel coupling for access around surrounding equipment. Both operate as part of a closed hydraulic system designed to withstand humidity, dirt, and harsh industrial conditions.
A common twin-port interface allows the wrenches to work with other brands’ pumps and hoses, so crews can deploy equipment quickly.
Electric and air-driven pump options accommodate different site infrastructure and operating environments.
