IS380.1 4G Radio Bridges Traditional Radio and Mobile Networks
i.safe MOBILE's IS380.1 4G professional radio device bridges conventional PMR communication systems and cellular Push-to-Talk networks. The device runs on IS-OS 16, an Android-based operating system, and is certified for Zone 1/21 hazardous industrial areas. It supports 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, allowing organisations to transition from legacy radio infrastructure to broadband-based communication without changing workflows.
The IS380.1 maintains the ergonomic design and operation of traditional two-way radios. A large side-mounted PTT key enables thumb operation, while a programmable rotary switch supports channel selection or volume control. An emergency SOS button is positioned near the external antenna. The touchscreen-capable device also includes a front-facing amplified loudspeaker and noise cancellation technology for high audio clarity in industrial environments.
The device integrates with unified communication systems through third-party RoIP gateways, allowing connection between VHF/UHF radio networks and cellular Push-to-Talk applications, including Mission Critical PTT and traditional telephony modes. The system-integrated i.safe MOBILE App World provides access to verified applications for Push-to-Talk and lone worker protection.
The IS380.1 housing follows the form factor of conventional two-way radios, supporting secure surface placement and handheld operation during long shifts. It includes a 13-pin ISM interface for accessories such as the IS-RSMG2.1 remote speaker microphone, IS-HS1.1 headset, and IS-HDHS1x.1 heavy-duty headset. Multicharger and desktop charger options support flexible charging and battery management. The device features a removable battery for rapid replacement during operation.
The device carries IP68 certification for dust and water resistance and meets MIL-STD 810H standards for shock, vibration, and temperature resistance. It is designed for deployment across logistics, warehousing, rail infrastructure, ports, manufacturing, construction, public safety, defence, and emergency service operations. The IS380.1 supports international frequency bands for global deployment, with local certifications available depending on regional requirements.
