High-throughput distribution and fulfillment operations often hit a ceiling at the transfer point, where conventional 90° divert units create bottlenecks or require a larger conveyor footprint to keep pace with line demands. The PDS-90 (Pulse Divert Switch 90) is a modular 90° transfer unit for conveyor systems that uses an alternating roller bed and transfer belt movement to achieve throughput rates of 1,800+ parcels per hour—a significant increase over conventional 90° transfer solutions—without increasing conveyor footprint.
Unlike traditional transfer systems, the PDS-90 maintains a constant conveying elevation throughout the transfer sequence, eliminating vertical product movement. This stroke-free design supports smooth handling of cartons and parcels, including sensitive or irregular loads, while keeping material flow continuous.
The unit accommodates conveyor between-frame (BF) widths from 15 to 34 in (381 to 864 mm) and is available in seven standard configuration variants, allowing system designers to match the unit to a wide range of conveyor layouts. It supports both 24V DC and 48V DC systems, enabling integration into existing Pulseroller-powered conveyor architectures. Load capacity is up to 110 lb (50 kg), with higher capacity options available. Both standard and freezer-rated versions are offered for use in temperature-controlled environments.
Maintenance access is from the top of the unit, eliminating the need to work from below the conveyor. The system requires no belt retensioning, and integrated broken belt detection supports faster troubleshooting and reduces downtime.
