The Tesseract Flexible Product Decoration Cell is an automated platform that combines direct-to-object (DTO) digital printing, optional label application, and intelligent automation to decorate products individually rather than through a single fixed process.

The cell uses Beckhoff's XPlanar magnetic planar transport technology to move, rotate, and dynamically reposition individual products as they pass through decoration. It can incorporate a label head alongside direct printing, allowing manufacturers to use direct-to-object printing, applied labels, or a combination of both within the same automated platform.

Direct-to-object printing applies graphics, branding, and variable information directly to a product or package, while the integrated label head supports applications where pressure-sensitive labels remain the preferred solution.

Through digitally controlled printing, optional label application, and independent product movement, the platform accommodates multiple product geometries, designs, and decoration requirements while reducing reliance on conventional mechanical changeovers—supporting smaller production runs, frequent SKU changes, test-market products, customized designs, and applications suited to minimum order quantity one (MOQ1) production.
