Wardjet's APEX-90 Waterjet Cutting Head is a 5-axis cutting head built to expand the range of parts and geometries that can be produced with precision waterjet machining.

The cutting head uses a wrist-pivot architecture that extends beyond the physical constraints of the Z-carriage, allowing it to reach areas that are inaccessible to conventional bevel cutting heads designed mainly for taper compensation and bevel cutting on flat material. This lets the waterjet stream cut at angles up to ±90°, including horizontal orientation when needed, and reach beneath flanges, overhangs, and recessed features, into deep cavities and confined geometries, and through complex 3D contours.

It retains taper compensation technology that automatically corrects for the taper created during waterjet cutting, supporting dimensional accuracy, edge quality, part repeatability, and reduced material waste. The head is built for both abrasive and pure waterjet cutting across steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, composites, plastics, rubber, foam, glass, and stone.
