Landis TTG 3000 Twin Turret Grinder for High-Precision Flexible Grinding
Fives' Landis TTG 3000 is a twin-turret, multispindle grinder designed to consolidate ID, OD, face, taper, raceway, and eccentric diameter grinding into a single clamping. The machine targets production environments where batch sizes vary, and component complexity requires multiple grinding operations that would otherwise require separate setups or machines.
The TTG 3000 uses a patented twin-turret design in which one turret carries the grinding wheel and the opposing turret supports the workpiece. Both turrets use hydrostatic bearings and are thermally isolated, with a motor torque rating of 1,050 Nm each.
The configuration allows access to complex geometries without repositioning, reducing cumulative error from repeated re-clamping. The grinding spindle turret swivels ±150° and accommodates up to three spindles with conventional, CBN, or diamond wheels up to 14 in (350 mm) in diameter. Maximum wheel surface speed is 394 ft/s (120 m/s), and maximum ID spindle speed is 75,000 rpm. The workhead turret swivels ±135°, with a linear axis travel of 14 in (350 mm) driven by a linear motor on hydrostatic guideways.
Maximum OD grinding diameter is 18 in (450 mm). Maximum external and internal grinding length is 7 in (170 mm) each. The machine measures 10 x 9 x 10 ft (3,000 x 2,800 x 3,000 mm) and weighs 44,000 lb (20,000 kg).
In addition to grinding, the platform supports hard turning and polishing. Control is open architecture with multi-axis coordination, process simulation, and Industry 4.0 integration.
