PISTA Synchronous Belt Drive Cuts Grit Chamber Maintenance
Grit chamber drives that rely on oil-based gears require regular oil inspection, filling, replacement, and disposal—tasks that add to operator workload and carry overfill and contamination risk. The PISTA Synchronous Belt Drive is a drive option for PISTA Grit Chamber systems that replaces the oil bath with a grease-lubricated, toothed synchronous belt.
The belt is constructed from HNBR rubber with a high-tensile-strength carbon fiber core, providing tension stability and consistent power transmission while reducing maintenance frequency. The drive is available as a factory option for new grit chamber systems and as a retrofit for existing installations, since it uses the same anchor bolt pattern as traditional PISTA drives, including the PISTA INVORSOR, PISTA VIO, PISTA 360 with V-FORCE Baffle, and PISTA 270. It also includes an automatic greaser for the slewing ring and multiple inspection ports for monitoring belt condition.
Applications
- Grit chamber drive operation
- Retrofit onto existing PISTA drive units
- Slewing ring lubrication
- Belt condition inspection
