DCM2 DC Energy Meter Supports Systems Up To 1500V DC, 1500 A
High-power battery storage systems, DC distribution networks, microgrids, and Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) for heavy-duty EV charging require accurate, high-current DC metering to monitor energy flow and support safe operation. Carlo Gavazzi's DCM2 is a direct-connection DC energy meter for systems up to 1500V DC and 1,500 A DC, supporting applications up to 2.25 MW.
The system pairs a transducer for voltage and current measurement with a display unit that provides RS485 Modbus RTU and Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP interfaces in the same unit for integration and real-time monitoring.
It measures voltage, current, active power, energy, ampere-hours, run hours, and operating time, and captures both imported and exported energy. Energy resolution via Modbus communication is 0.0001 kWh, and data refresh time is ≤200 ms.
Voltage inputs are available at 150V DC, 200V DC, 220V DC, 240V DC, 300V DC, 400V DC, 500V DC, 600V DC, 750V DC, 800V DC, 1,000V DC, and 1,500V DC, with current measured via direct connection up to 1,500 A DC. Diagnostic alarms flag overtemperature, overcurrent, and overvoltage conditions.
The unit includes sealable terminal caps, real-time temperature monitoring, and secure busbar installation, and operates on an auxiliary power supply of 12 to 24V DC ±20%. It is cURus-approved, CTEP-compliant, and CE-compliant according to applicable European directives.
