A6450 Cooled MWIR Camera Delivers 27,000-Hour Operational Life
Flir's A6450 Long-Life Cooled MWIR Camera is a thermal imaging camera built for continuous industrial automation, process control, and non-destructive testing applications.
At its core is a HOT MWIR detector paired with a linear cooler rated for up to 27,000 hours of operational life. The extended service interval allows facilities to move from annual maintenance cycles to multi-year operational planning, reducing downtime and service costs.
The camera operates at a 125 Hz frame rate, capturing fast thermal events and subtle temperature variations on moving products. High thermal sensitivity supports early detection of defects, material inconsistencies, and process deviations before they advance downstream.
Built on A6700-Series electronics, the A6450 supports GigE Vision, GenICam, and other industry-standard protocols for integration into existing automation systems. Customer-configurable interfaces, commands, and triggers allow system integrators to deploy without custom development work. The camera also offers plug-and-play compatibility with Flir Research Studio for pre-deployment testing and validation.
Hundreds of calibration profiles can be stored directly on the camera, enabling support for multiple products, materials, and inspection scenarios from a single platform—useful in facilities with frequent product changeovers. A flexible optics portfolio supports a range of manufacturing environments.
Continuous thermal monitoring detects seal defects, material deformities, incomplete bonding, uneven curing, and process instability via subtle temperature variation. Early identification of overheating, process drift, or equipment stress helps prevent defects from escalating downstream.
