PackMaster Palletizing Cell Builds Dense Mixed-SKU Pallets
Distribution centers that ship mixed-SKU orders have to build outbound pallets that ship stably, even as order profiles change from one shipment to the next. Doing that by hand is slow and inconsistent. Poorly stacked loads also waste trailer space and lead to damaged goods.
Yaskawa's PackMaster robotic palletizing cell builds stable mixed-SKU pallets in real time. Sequenced cases arrive from an inventory buffer by conveyor. Palletizing software then pulls order data from the warehouse management system, and a vision system and integrated motion planning determine where each case goes. The cell places 800 to 1,200 cases per hour and produces dense, wrapped pallets ready for labeling and shipment. Its scalable architecture lets operations start with partially manual workflows and move to fully automated systems as volume grows.
