Corvus One for Cold Chain Autonomous Drone System Scans Freezer Inventory
Corvus One for Cold Chain is an autonomous inventory management system engineered for continuous operation in freezer environments ranging from -20°F (-29°C) to ambient temperatures. The drone-based system performs frequent, fully autonomous inventory cycle counts without human intervention, delivering real-time inventory visibility while eliminating the need for workers to enter sub-zero aisles for routine counts.
The system uses industrial-grade barcode scanners with adaptive focus and exposure control to maintain barcode readability despite frost, condensation, glare, and damaged labels. Flight stabilization automatically compensates for strong airflow from freezer blowers and door activity. The system operates without Wi-Fi, localization markers, lighting modifications, or special barcodes, and maintains continuous uptime through automated battery and device health management.
For frozen inventory management, the system supports precise tracking of pallet positions and dwell time to address short shelf lives, FIFO requirements, and expanding SKU counts. Operators gain visibility into replenishment needs and space utilization. The system is available under a Robots-as-a-Service model.
