Niphos 6500 Electrolytic Nickel Plating Doubles Line Speed
Uyemura's Niphos 6500 electrolytic nickel phosphorus alloy plating process for roll-to-roll line applications deposits nickel layers at twice the speed of conventional electrolytic nickel processes while maintaining phosphorus content. The plated layer contains 6 to 11% phosphorus and exhibits very low internal stress and low cracking susceptibility while providing corrosion protection.
The process is suited for use as an intermediate layer for hard gold plating, helping reduce gold thickness and related material costs. It has shown strong performance in high-frequency connectors and sensor applications. When applied to high-stress automotive and industrial components, it increases durability, reduces friction, retards wear, and assists in heat transfer management.
The plating layer achieves a hardness of HV 550 to 600. The process is chloride-free and pH stable. Current density is 600 ASF.
