Durast Powder Technology Micronizes High-Performance Resins for 3D Printing
Durast Powder is a proprietary micronization technology that converts high-performance engineering resins into fine powders for use in additive manufacturing, powder sintering, and mass production applications.
The technology addresses limitations of conventional grinding methods, which cause particle agglomeration and reduced flowability in high-performance resins. For liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), Durast Powder achieves uniform particle sizes of approximately 1 to 100 μm with high powder flowability and mixing dispersibility.
For polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polyacetal (POM)—resins with low glass transition temperatures that agglomerate under friction heat during conventional grinding—the technology produces particle sizes of 20 to 100 μm with a narrow particle size distribution.
Powders can be produced in spherical or fibrous forms depending on application requirements. Intended uses include additive manufacturing of complex and high-precision parts, matrix resin for carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, and organic filler or reinforcing material.
