South Korean Battery Maker DeltaX to Build $141M U.S. Manufacturing Hub in Georgia

DeltaX is opening its first North American manufacturing headquarters in Monroe, Georgia—a 100,000-sq-ft BESS plant.

DeltaX, a Seoul-based maker of battery energy storage systems (BESS), is establishing its North American manufacturing headquarters in Monroe, Georgia, with a $141 million investment expected to create roughly 250 jobs.

The move matters for U.S. manufacturers and buyers as it adds domestic production capacity for a technology category in high demand: utility-scale storage, renewable integration, and, increasingly, power backup for AI data centers. A U.S.-based plant can mean shorter lead times and more supply chain resilience for OEMs and integrators who've relied on overseas BESS sourcing.

The first phase of the campus, sited on roughly 25 acres (10 hectares) at the Piedmont Regional Industrial Park, includes a 100,000-sq-ft (9,290-sq-m) BESS assembly facility. DeltaX plans to follow with additional buildings for key component production, plus a separate corporate office, as it scales up North American output.

DeltaX's product line spans battery energy storage systems, battery management systems (BMS), and AI-driven energy management software—components it says are engineered in-house, including battery design and thermal management, rather than sourced piecemeal.

The Georgia site adds to a fast-growing cluster of Korean-owned battery and EV manufacturing investment in the state, alongside facilities from Hyundai Motor Group, LG Energy Solution, SK, and Qcells—a signal of where new BESS production and, potentially, new supplier relationships are concentrating in the U.S.

"Georgia has established itself as one of the world’s premier locations for advanced energy manufacturing, making it the ideal place for DeltaX's North American expansion. We greatly appreciate the strong partnership and support provided by the State of Georgia, Walton County, and our local partners throughout this process," said Stephen Kim, Founder & CEO of DeltaX. "This investment represents a major milestone in DeltaX's global growth strategy. Our Georgia facility will serve as the manufacturing hub for North America, enabling us to provide world-class Battery Energy Storage Systems more efficiently while creating high-quality jobs and supporting America's rapidly growing demand for reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure."
