Columbus McKinnon Expanding in Tennessee

Dixie Industries due for $5.5-million update
July 9, 2009
Dixie Industries, a Columbus McKinnon Corp. subsidiary, is planning to expand its closed-die steel forging operation in Chattanooga, TN, with a $5.5-million, three-year project. The operation forges hooks, tiedowns, and similar products for logging and towing. Dixie Industries also produces industrial ratchets, barge ratchets, and turnbuckle ratchets. The expansion will result in up to 120 new positions at Dixie Industries’ two plants in Chattanooga, reportedly as a consequence of consolidation among other Columbus McKinnon divisions.
