Stalcup succeeds Heminger, optimistic about the future
Directors of Ameriforge Group Inc. elected Gean B. Stalcup as the organization’s new president and CEO, succeeding David V. Heminger. Stalcup had been the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer over the past several years, filling “a pivotal role in the growth and transformation of the company,” it said in a release. Heminger, who has led Ameriforge since 2004, will remain with the group as a director. Ameriforge is a forging holding company for operations in three markets: aircraft and aerospace, power-generation equipment, and oil and gas equipment. It performs a range of manufacturing capabilities, including design, forging, heat-treating, precision machining, specialized welding, component assembly, and testing. Ameriforge chairman Michael L. Tiner, managing director of Tanglewood Investments Inc., called Ameriforge Group the most important portfolio company for his private-equity firm. “This leadership transition has been planned for some time and is another step in the continued growth and development of Ameriforge Group,” according to Tiner. “We are extremely grateful for Dave's steady and mature leadership over the past five years and look forward to his continuing contributions as a member of our board. Gean is a proven leader and builder of businesses. We are extremely optimistic about the foundation for growth that is in place and look forward with enthusiasm to working even more closely with Gean and the Ameriforge team to build upon that foundation." A veteran of industrial manufacturing, Stalcup held a series of engineering, marketing and general management positions with several well-regarded firms before joining Ameriforge in late 2004. The list includes Illinois Tool Works, United Technologies, Sundstrand, and Marmon. "I could not be more optimistic with regard to the future of Ameriforge Group,” Stalcup stated. “We have used our commitment to the Advanced Technology Center and the practices that flow from it to build world-class capability in several key areas, successfully demonstrating the ability to serve some of the most sophisticated and demanding customers in the world. We have made remarkable progress even during the challenging global economic conditions of the past 12-18 months. We now have an opportunity to build upon that foundation as we strive to be among the 'best of the best' global manufacturing companies."
