Ladish Celebrates Centennial

Sept. 19, 2005
Company began life as a drop forger.

On September 14, Ladish Co., Cudahy, WI, officially celebrated its centennial anniversary with a catered dinner for company officials, customers, and key suppliers at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The company has three operating units: Cudahy Forge, in Cudahy; Pacific Cast Technologies, Albany, OR; and Stowe Machine, Windsor, CT. Cudahy Forge traces its origin to Obenberger Drop Forge Co. in Milwaukee. Herman Ladish became associated with Obenberger in 1905. In 1913, the company was moved to Cudahy, a suburb of Milwaukee. Ladish eventually took over ownership of the operation and renamed it Ladish Drop Forge Co.

The forging operation was named Cudahy Forge after Ladish acquired Pacific Cast Technologies and Stowe Machine in the late 1990s.

Ladish currently employs about 1050 and had annual sales of $208 million in 2004. Cudahy Forge uses a variety of sophisticated forging technologies to produce highly engineered products for aerospace and industrial manufacturers around the world.
