Dr. Joachim Schnbeck, formerly a division head at SMS Demag AG, Dusseldorf, Germany, has moved to the management of SMS Meer GmbH in Mnchengladbach. He will assume the chairmanship from Dr. Helmut Fricke on January 1, 2005, when Dr. Fricke retires.
Additionally, Dr. Schnbeck was appointed to the management of SMS GmbH, the holding company of the SMS Group, on October 1, 2004. He will have responsibility for the tube, section, and forging technology business area, including the companies of SMS Meer, SMS Eumuco, and SMS Elotherm.
