August 22, 2007 — Wyman-Gordon Forgings has entered into a new four-year labor agreement with the International Association of Machinists, which represents about 420 employees at Wyman-Gordon Forgings' plant in Houston. The contract, effective immediately, was approved by IAM workers on August 17.
Wyman-Gordon Forgings L.P. is a subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp. PCC is a holding company for a range of manufacturing operations, producing metal investment castings, airfoil castings, and forged components for aerospace, power-generation, automotive, and general industrial markets. Other operations produce engineered fasteners for aerospace, automotive, and other markets, and ingots for casting and forging producers.
According to Wyman-Gordon Forgings president Chris Ayers, "We are pleased that we have successfully reached agreement on the renewal terms and that our employees have ratified the contract. Our relationship with the IAM remains strong and our employees have and will continue to play an important role as we work together to deliver product to meet our customers needs."
