An HO-U 500 hydraulic double-acting hammer is the key order from an Korean supplier to the automotive industry. Il Gahng, the forging division of the South Korean car component manufacturer Dae Seung Co. Ltd, has scheduled the start of production with the new hammer for early in 2005. The new unit successfully passed its trial run at Lasco in November under scrutiny of a delegation of officials from Il Gahng.
Il Gahng will be using the new hammer to forge automotive drive train components and connecting rods. Il Gahng’s customers are Asian production facilities of OEMs such as Kia, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, GM Daewoo, and DaimlerChrysler.
