June 27, 2007--Ladish Forging, Inc. www.forging.com (www.forging.com), a subsidiary of Ladish Co., Inc. www.ladishco.com , has appointed Jerry Ramos to the position of Vice President of Operations. He was Manager of Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Engineering. While retaining the responsibilities of his previous position, Ramos will also assume responsibility for managing the maintenance department and facilities engineering functions.
An employee of Ladish Forging for more than 27 years, Ramos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Upon joining Ladish after graduation, Ramos worked as a Metallurgical Engineer and rose through numerous engineering levels in the Quality Department. In 1990, he was promoted from Advanced Senior Metallurgical Engineer to Manager of Ferrous Product Metallurgy. In 1992, he became Department Head for Forge Shop Engineering and in 1999 was promoted to Manager of Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Engineering.
In 1995, Ramos was named an Honorary Faculty member by the American Society of Metals for teaching a course in Heat Treating. In addition, he has participated in numerous training programs to include: Executive Leadership Training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Finance Skills for Non-Financial Managers at UW-Milwaukee, and Extensive Lean Manufacturing training. Ramos is currently participating in the company's Key Management Leadership training initiative.
