Inductoheat Announces New Stationary Process for Hardening Crankshafts

July 29, 2005
No crankshaft rotation required.

Inductoheat, Inc., Madison Heights, MI, announces its new SHarP-C Stationary Hardening Process for crankshafts, in which heating is performed without any crankshaft rotation. Using SHarP-C technology, this compact system hardens and tempers V8-, V6-, or 4-cylinder crankshafts in one quarter of the floor space required by traditional systems, while reportedly providing four times the tooling life. Other major advantages are said to be low part distortion, simple operation, modular tooling, reliability, off-line part qualification, maintainability and low cost.
