February 3 - In an article dated February 1, the Milwaukee Journal reported that Ladish Co.’s employees at its Cudahy Forging plant received profit-sharing checks amounting to 7.6% of their annual earnings. It was the biggest profit –sharing bonus paid by the company since it began its program in the early 1990s,
The company’s website states: “Cudahy Forging supplies highly engineered, high-strength forgings to aerospace and general industrial customers. The operation is the second largest forging facility in North America, employing 700 workers. Cudahy Forging operates the world’s largest isothermal press, (as well as a) ring roll mill, shear form equipment and counter-blow hammer.”
The company has benefited from a surge of orders for components for jet aircraft engines.
In addition to Cudahy Forging, Ladish also owns Pacific Cast Technologies, a titanium investment casting business in Albany, OR, and Stowe Machine, a precision machining business in Windsor, CT.
In 2005, Ladish acquired ZKM Forging in Stalowa Wola, Poland. Founded in 1978, the company is a well-established forging producer in Europe.
