Park-Ohio Industries has acquired Canton Drop Forge Inc., a closed-die forging operation in Canton, OH, for an unreported price. It’s the latest addition to Cleveland-based Park-Ohio’s manufacturing holdings, which already include Ajax-Tocco Magnethermic Corp., Kropp Forge, Ohio Crankshaft, and Southwest Steel Processing, among numerous other operating subsidiaries.
“The addition of CDF to our current Forged and Machined Products Group will enhance the company’s international aerospace profile,” according to Edward F. Crawford, ParkOhio chairman and CEO.
Besides aerospace forgings, CDF manufactures products for customers in transportation, locomotive, oilfield, power-generation, and other industrial markets. Along with die forgings, some typical products include shafts, connecting rods, valve bodies, and pump components.
Canton Drop Forge operates 13 hammer forging machines producing large and small parts in carbon alloy, stainless steels, titanium and high-temperature alloys. It also has a 1,200-ton hydraulic press for trimming and open-die processing.
The 241,000-sq.ft. manufacturing complex also has oil- and polymer-quench and temper lines and Nadcap-certified annealing, normalizing, and tempering furnaces.
